The UN Security Council is due to meet at the top of the hour in New York following overnight strikes by Russia on Ukrainian cities including the capital, which left more than 20 dead, including four children. The top UN humanitarian official there said the attacks underscore the "constant danger" faced by civilians and the attacks marked the biggest assault on Kyiv since the 15 August summit between the presidents of the United States and Russia in Alaska.
