University of Vienna

In its best ranking result so far, the University of Vienna is among the top 9% of all universities worldwide

The University of Vienna is ranked #130 in the "World University Ranking 2024" published by the British company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

This ranking, together with the THE ranking (University of Vienna: currently #124) and the Shanghai ranking (University of Vienna: currently #151-200), is due to its visibility one of the most important overall university rankings. With its current result, the University of Vienna is among the best 9% of all 1,500 universities ranked. The University of Vienna will again be the best amongst the eight ranked Austrian universities.

It is remarkable that the University of Vienna was able to improve by 21 places compared to the previous year (2023: #151) and will receive the best ranking since its participation in the ranking, which it has since 2011. The good performance is all the more significant since 83 more universities were included in the current ranking than in the previous year. The University of Vienna was therefore able to assert itself successfully even in a more competitive environment.
