Unlawful wounding investigation in Taringa, QLD

Detectives are investigating an incident this morning in which a man was stabbed at a home in Taringa, Queensland Police say.

Initial investigations indicate shortly after 6.30am, a man forced his way into a home on Todd Street and confronted a man and woman, who were sleeping inside the residence.

A physical altercation occurred between the two men, resulting in the occupant being stabbed a number of times to the neck, hands and upper body.

The man then fled on foot. It is believed the man was known to the pair.

The victim, a 20-year-old man, was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.

The 20-year-old woman and two children, aged 1 and 3, who were also inside the residence at the time were not physically injured.

A crime scene was established with detectives, forensic and scientific officers attending.

Investigations are continuing.
