The Northern Territory Police Force is continuing to monitor and respond to incidents of unrest in Wadeye.
Around 3:50pm on Sunday 8 February, police received reports that a group of offenders had allegedly set a vehicle alight outside the Wadeye clinic.
A short time later, further reports were received of a structure fire at a residence behind the clinic along with a large group engaging in violent conduct involving weapons.
Local members attended and extinguished the fire. The residence was unoccupied at the time of the incident and initial investigations indicate a mattress was set alight.
No injuries have been reported to police at this stage.
OC spray was deployed and the group dispersed.
Investigations are ongoing and police are sending further staff to support Wadeye Community.
Superintendent Virginia Read said, "While police and community leaders are working closely to identify a peaceful resolution, ongoing violence will not be tolerated.
"Police will be reviewing footage, identifying those responsible. The safety of all people in Wadeye is paramount and the fighting needs to stop."
