Updated Public Activities Direction 7 May, South Australia

The Public Activities Direction has been updated in South Australia.

The Public Activities No 24 came into effect at 1.12pm Friday 7 May 2021.

The Direction has been amended in relation to the approved contact tracing system:

  • A person must not interfere with the enabling of an approved contact tracing system or the uploading, capturing or collection of relevant personal details for contact tracing purposes.

This means a person who interferes with or removes a sign containing a dedicated SAfe Check In QR code approved by the State Government without authorisation is in breach of the Direction and may be expiated pursuant to an offence under the Emergency Management Act 2004.

The Emergency Management (Public Activities No 23)(COVID-19) Direction 2021 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Public Activities No 24)(COVID-19) Direction 2021.
