Kenmore can now do much more with its community centre, thanks to more than $1.7 million in upgrades opened today.

Kenmore Community Centre now has a brand-new central building with a communal meeting space, a card dealing room for the Bridge Club and a Tech Hub area for the Men's Shed.

With a strong emphasis on accessibility and community engagement, the improved facilities, accessible spaces and inclusive programs have been integrated to ensure that every member of the community has a place to belong.

The Kenmore Bridge Club building had internal walls removed to maximise playing space. A new kitchen, ambulant toilet, and covered outdoor seating area have been provided.

eWaste Connection will now have exclusive use of the building opposite its existing workshop for additional office and storage space. A new ambulant toilet has also been constructed, along with a pedestrian crossing for safer site access.

ShedWest Men's Shed had a new dust extraction system installed and its kitchenette upgraded.

By supporting community recreational activity and public gatherings, nearly 1000 people are expected to make use of the facility year.

The Albanese Government committed $1.5 million to the project, with Brisbane City Council providing the remaining $264,000.
