Glen Huon Reserve in the Shire of Dardanup is shining brighter, with the installation of four new 200 lux light towers now complete.
Delivered as part of a $850,000 Cook Labor Government election commitment, the new $425,015 lighting enhances the venue for the Eaton Boomers Football Club and wider community by expanding access for night training, matches, and events.
The investment will help to activate the space year-round and encourage more people to get involved in sport and recreation by improving the experience for players, umpires, families, and volunteers.
Future upgrades include the supply and install of a new scoreboard and extended verandahs.
These works form part of the Cook Labor Government's PlayOn WA initiative, delivering 2,030 infrastructure items by 2030 and ensuring long-term benefits for communities across the State.
As stated by Sport and Recreation Minister Rita Saffioti:
"We're upgrading the lighting at Glen Huon Reserve to drive participation and improve access for more people in Eaton, supporting them to stay active and connected through community sport.
"Quality lighting means grassroots clubs like the Boomers can train and play later into the evening, creating opportunities for growth.
"Through PlayOn WA, our government is proud to invest in the infrastructure communities need to thrive for decades to come."
