Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III spoke with German Federal Minister of Defense Christine Lambrecht to discuss security assistance to Ukraine. Secretary Austin thanked the Minister for Germany's continued commitment to providing critical defensive capabilities to Ukraine. He also acknowledged Germany's essential role as a host nation to U.S. forces, enabling U.S. and Allied support to Ukraine and to defend NATO countries on the Eastern Flank.
