U.S. President Trump Announces Judicial Nominee 21 May

Today, President Donald J. Trump announced his intent to nominate:

Edmund G. LaCour, Jr., of Alabama, to serve as Judge on the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama.

Edmund LaCour currently serves as the Solicitor General for the State of Alabama. Before joining the Alabama Attorney General's Office in 2018, Mr. LaCour was a Partner in the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkland & Ellis, LLP, where he represented numerous clients before the Supreme Court, courts of appeals, and trial courts. Previously, Mr. LaCour practiced at Bancroft PLLC, and Baker Botts, LLP. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. LaCour served as a law clerk to Judge William H. Pryor, Jr., of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Mr. LaCour earned his B.A., summa cum laude, from Birmingham-Southern College, his M. Phil. from Trinity College Dublin, and his J.D. from Yale Law School.
