As you know, on Friday the U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling overturning the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that established abortion as a constitutional right in the United States. Friday's decision does not impact the right of states to continue to permit abortions.

Under current state law, Friday's decision will not negatively impact or otherwise affect access to abortion or other reproductive healthcare in Connecticut.

This includes for our patients at UConn Health, where our mission is to serve our community through healing and teaching in all aspects of care, including reproductive health care. This decision will not change that. UConn Health will continue to serve our community by providing the full spectrum of reproductive healthcare in a conscious, safe, and legal way.

Dr. Radenka Maric

Interim President

Bruce T. Liang, MD

Interim Chief Executive Officer, UConn Health

Dean, UConn School of Medicine
