USAID Administrator Power Discusses Aid with Guyana President Ali

On September 14, Administrator Samantha Power met with President Irfaan Ali of Guyana. The two discussed shared priorities, including food and climate security, migration management, and inclusive economic development. Administrator Power and President Ali also underscored the strong shared commitment of the United States and Guyana to supporting the people of Haiti. The Administrator reaffirmed the United States' commitment to collaborating with the Guyanese government on regional matters and expressed gratitude for USAID's enduring partnership with Guyana. Administrator Power and President Ali discussed Guyana's development progress, and the country's investments in health and education. Additionally, Administrator Power congratulated President Ali on Guyana's election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, and discussed with President Ali Guyana's important role as a leader within the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
