On July 3, Administrator Samantha Power met with Dr. Laura Carrillo, Executive Director of the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID). They discussed progress under Sembrando Oportunidades, the U.S.-Mexico bilateral framework for development cooperation to address the root causes of migration from northern Central America. USAID and AMEXCID committed to sharing lessons learned and deepening this partnership in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras to create opportunities for the people of Central America to live in peace and prosperity in their home communities.
