Vehicle And Fuel Theft Charges At Sunshine Coast

Police have charged a 24-year-old Image Flat man following investigations into the alleged theft of a box trailer and a jerry can of fuel on the Sunshine Coast.

It will be alleged that on 9 July, a box trailer was stolen from Murdering Creek Road in Peregian Beach.

Police will further allege that on the morning of 20 July, a jerry can containing diesel fuel was stolen from a vehicle at a service station on Elizabeth Street, Kenilworth.

Following investigations, police intercepted a vehicle on Boyle Road in Gheerulla, around 1.25pm on 20 July.

The vehicle was allegedly towing the stolen box trailer, which police subsequently recovered.

The 24-year-old Image Flat man has been charged with multiple offences including unlawful use of a motor vehicle and enter premises and commit indictable offence.

His bail was refused, and he is due to next appear before Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 27 July.

Police are appealing for anyone who has information about any stolen vehicles in the area, to come forward.
