Visions of Australia applications open

Australian arts and cultural heritage organisations can now apply for funding to take their exhibitions on tour.

Each financial year the program provides $2.4 million for eligible organisations to develop and tour exhibitions of cultural material of artistic, historic, scientific, design or social significance across Australia.

The program gives Australians the opportunity to experience quality art and culture exhibitions that might not otherwise be able to travel to regional areas.

Two application rounds are open each year, in February for funding to commence from 1 July, and October for funding to commence the following January. Applications are open now for projects starting from 1 January 2020.

Applications close 5pm Friday 4 October (AEST).

Case study - Partnershipping Project

In 2017 Contemporary Art Tasmania received over $150,000 in Visions funding to develop and tour 20 small wooden boats decorated by 20 regional artists in response to the question 'does place matter'.

The flotilla will visit 4 regional 'watery exchange-destinations' across Australia, growing from 8 to 20 boats as each venue adds boats responding to local issues.
