Pro level tennis returns this September with the second Wagga Wagga Tennis International set to take place at the Jim Elphick Tennis Centre.
After the success of the 2025 event, the city will once again host the pro-women's tennis event which draws players from all over the world.
Mayor of the City of Wagga Wagga Councillor Dallas Tout said "the 2025 tournament was a great success, and we are thrilled to be hosting it in Wagga Wagga again in 2026.
"The two winners of the 2025 Wagga Wagga Tennis International tournaments, Katie Swan and Taylah Preston, went on this year to play in the main draws at Wimbledon and the Australian Open respectively, highlighting how close locals can get to pro-level tennis right here in Wagga Wagga.
"In addition, the economic boost for the region is immense when we host this level of sporting event, and it's made possible with the excellent facility we have in the Jim Elphick Tennis Centre."
CEO of Tennis NSW Olivia Thornton said "we're thrilled to confirm the return of the Wagga Wagga Tennis International in 2026, which is part of the World Tennis Series.
"Bringing these events to regional New South Wales builds on the strong success of last year's events and the growing connection between these tournaments and local communities.
"Tournaments like the Wagga Wagga Tennis International play an important role as a stepping stone for emerging players aiming to progress to the main tour.
"In 2025, more than 60 per cent of the player field came from overseas, highlighting the global relevance of the event, while also creating unique opportunities for regional communities to engage with international athletes up close.
"It also allows Tennis NSW to assist in the activation of significant infrastructure investments made across New South Wales, including the Jim Elphick Tennis Centre.
"We're committed to working with local councils and Tennis Australia to strengthen tennis communities across the state while inviting communities to be part of the sport through playing and volunteering."
The Wagga Wagga Tennis International will be held at the Jim Elphick Tennis Centre, Bolton Park Wagga Wagga, from Sunday 27 September to Sunday 11 October 2026 and is free for spectators to attend.
