Wallans New Family, Childrens Centre Construction Advances

Construction of the new Wallan East Integrated Family and Children's Centre (interim name) in Wallan is continuing to progress, with several key early works milestones now completed on site.

Recent inclement weather has presented some challenges for crews, however works are progressing well and the project remains on track.

Underground drainage infrastructure has now been installed across the site to manage stormwater and prepare the ground for construction. Plumbing works have also commenced, with crews now working towards the next major milestone of pouring the building's concrete slab.

Once complete, the Wallan East Integrated Family and Children's Centre (interim name) will provide a purpose-built early years and family services hub to support Wallan's growing community.

The $20.15 million project is jointly funded, with $18.15 million provided by the Victorian Government and $2 million contributed by Mitchell Shire Council.

The centre will bring a range of essential services together in one location, including kindergarten programs, Maternal and Child Health services and space for community and allied health providers.

Located in the rapidly growing Wallan East area, the facility will support local families by improving access to early years services and creating a welcoming place for learning, connection and community activities.

Construction is expected to continue throughout 2026, with the centre anticipated to be operational in early 2027.
