War Secretary Reveals May 4, 2026 Officer Changes

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced today that the president has made the following nominations:

Space Force Lt. Gen. Douglas A. Schiess, for appointment to the grade of general, with assignment as chief of Space Operations, Headquarters, U.S. Space Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Schiess is currently serving as the deputy chief of Space Operations for Operations, Headquarters, U.S. Space Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

Army Maj. Gen. Guillaume N. Beaurpere for appointment to the grade lieutenant general, with assignment as commander, Security Assistance Group-Ukraine/NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine, Operation ATLANTIC RESOLVE, Germany. Beaurpere is currently serving as chief of staff, U.S. Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida.

Army Col. Michael W. Brancamp for appointment to the grade of brigadier general with assignment as deputy commander, 200th Military Police Command, Fort Meade, Maryland. Brancamp is currently serving as chief of staff, 78th Training Division, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey.
