Warnbro evade police incident

Police are conducting inquiries into the driver of a vehicle that was involved in an evade police incident this morning, 13 August 2019.

About 10.10am, police officers sighted a Subaru Liberty stolen plates travelling on Safety Bay Road near Read Street in Warnbro.

The driver of the Subaru failed to stop when directed to by police. Police activated their emergency lights and sirens and followed the vehicle until at the intersection of Warnbro Sound Avenue and San Sebastian Boulevard in Port Kennedy, the Subaru collided with a Mitsubishi ASX station sedan that was stationary at a stop sign.

The Subaru failed to stop after the crash and continued on until the driver abandoned the vehicle on Jean Pierre Drive, Port Kennedy and fled on foot.

The occupants of the Mitsubishi, a man and woman in their 60s were taken to Rockingham Hospital and Royal Perth Hospital respectively. Their injuries are not life-threatening.
