Warrant executed following 2013 Buchan assault

East Gippsland Crime Investigation Unit detectives have executed a warrant in Buchan this morning as part of their investigation into a serious assault in 2013, Victoria Police say.

The warrant was executed at a residential address and detectives have seized a red Ducati motorcycle believed to be linked to the incident.

The motorcycle will now be forensically tested.

Police have also released images today of the injuries the victim sustained in the 2013 assault in Buchan.

A 51-year-old man was left in an induced coma after he was assaulted at an industrial premises on Bruthen-Buchan Road sometime between 5am and 6.30am on Tuesday, 22 January.

The Buchan man had just arrived at work when he was violently attacked by an unknown offender.

He suffered multiple fractures to the head and body.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward, including someone who previously came forward in May 2016.
