For the first time in two decades, the City of Perth is hosting the Perth Garden & Outdoor Living Festival, on the banks of the beautiful Swan River in Langley Park from 29 April to 2 May.
Bursting with colour, more than 35 nurseries will fill Langley Park as part of the state’s largest plant market.
The first 4000 City of Perth residents through the doors at the festival will receive a free native plant from Nativ by Plantrite. You wouldn’t want to miss out.
“We’re excited to be partnering with Western Australia’s longest running garden and outdoor living event right in the heart of the CBD, while showcasing just how breathtaking our own parks and gardens are,” City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said.
“Hosting events such these makes our city more vibrant and active and provides another reason for people to rediscover Perth.
“With more room to grow and flourish this year, the festival is going to be bigger and better, with extra show gardens, guest speakers, activities and entertainment.”
“Gardening is for everyone whether young or old, and at this year’s festival we celebrate how gardening captured the imagination of the Western Australian public when COVID-19 changed our lives,” Nursery & Garden Industry WA Executive Officer Matthew Lunn said.
“Bringing the festival into the heart of the city will enhance the importance of greening our city and the on-going battle we are experiencing with climate change. The City of Perth has the ability to become a sustainable green city of the future and become a worldwide leader.”
Each day will feature different garden experts to speak on all things gardening, while in the evening, Langley Park will come alive with a twilight event for city workers.
With an outdoor playground, arts and crafts, plant potting workshop, face painting and a petting zoo, the festival is one for the whole family to enjoy.
