Water Main Rebroken - Further water outage for Moon and Tamar Streets, Ballina

The previous water main break has rebroken and is causing a further water outage for properties on Moon and Tamar Streets. This outage is expected to continue for another four hours.

Council had fixed this water main this morning, however it's rebroken and is now causing a second water outage in the area.

A road closure is also still in place on Moon Street, between Tamar and Crane Streets. The Holden Lane exit to Moon Street is also closed.

Council crews are on site and working to rectify the issue as soon as possible.

Council apologises for the inconvenience and will continue to provide updates via local media and Council's Facebook page once more information is available.

Here's some things to remember that will assist you during this outage:

  • During any water disruption it's important to leave your taps off as the water may return at any time.
  • When water returns it may be discoloured. This is due to sediment. Please run the tap until your water runs clear.
  • Your water may appear milky. This is caused by small air bubbles. Don't be alarmed it is not harmful, and will settle in a short period.

If you have any enquiries in regard to this matter please contact council's Water and Wastewater Section on 1300 864 444.
