Local Councillor and former Liberal Member for East Hills, Wendy Lindsay, is once again putting up her hand to fight for her local community and hold Labor to account on the issues impacting families, households, and small businesses.
Wendy is a born and raised local, she grew up in Revesby Heights and is proud to call the East Hills district home. Her grandparents built one of the first homes on Sandakan Road and Wendy has raised her own family in Padstow, giving her a strong understanding of the issues faced by local families.
"Families in East Hills are struggling under Labor, the cost of living is rising, housing is harder to afford, and essential services, public transport and local infrastructure are falling behind - our community deserves better," Wendy said.
Wendy has spent years working in the community. As manager of a local community radio station and former President of Padstow Park Public School P&C, she has built a reputation for getting things done. In 2015, she was named East Hills Woman of the Year in recognition of her contribution to the area.
Working with family owned small businesses, Wendy knows from experience the importance of a strong local economy to create jobs for young people and take the pressure off families.
"Small businesses are the backbone of our community, but under Labor, red tape and rising costs are forcing local businesses to close their doors, costing jobs and putting local livelihoods at risk. We need a government that understands and backs small business," she said.
Wendy is bringing her experience, passion, and deep local knowledge back to state politics, ready to serve the community again as the Member for East Hills.
"I'm putting my hand up to be a strong voice for East Hills and I'll fight for our community every single day. After years of neglect under Labor, we need a local who will get on with the job and deliver real results," she said.
As part of Kellie Sloane's Liberal Team, Wendy will use her experience and passion for East Hills to deliver on the issues that matter most to our community.
