We're encouraging residents to come and celebrate the Peninsula's cultural diversity at events throughout Harmony Week (20 – 26 March 2023).

What is Harmony Week?

Harmony Week is a time to celebrate Australian multiculturalism, and the successful integration of migrants into our community.

Australia is one of the most successful multicultural countries in the world and we should celebrate this and work to maintain it.

Each year, Harmony Week is aligned with the week that includes 21 March, which is the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

As part of Harmony Week, we'll be running a visual arts workshop! We'd love for you to join us:

Visual Arts Workshop with artist Marynes Avila

Mount Martha Community House (466 Esplanade, Mount Martha)

Wednesday 22 March, 11am

Cost: Free

Bookings: mornpen.vic.gov.au/artsworkshop

You can also check out events happening throughout the Peninsula for Harmony Week on our What's On listing.

Don't forget to share your Harmony Week celebrations and pictures on social media using #harmonyweek and #everyonebelongs.

Quotes attributable to Mayor Councillor Steve Holland:

"Harmony week is about celebrating the success of multicultural Australia.

"We want everyone, no matter who they are or where they're from, to come along to the events and have fun and appreciate that our differences make our community a great place to live.

"To participate, you can wear orange to show your support, or you can attend or host a Harmony Week event. Registrations are now open via harmony.gov.au"
