West Tamar car park upgrade to get underway

The City of Launceston will this week begin a $500,000 upgrade of the West Tamar Trail car park, with works expected to be complete by Christmas, weather permitting.

The upgrade will see the car park and roadway reshaped and resealed with a road pavement designed to improve drainage, reduce potholes and better withstand inundation in flood events.

While parking restrictions will be in place during the works, access to Tamar Marine, Almasts Australia and the Tamar Rowing Club will be maintained.

The pedestrian and cycle trail will also remain open.
