Western Australia coronovirus update as at 10 May 2021

The Department of Health has reported no new cases of COVID-19 overnight.

The State's total stands at 1013.

WA Health is monitoring 18 active cases of COVID-19 and 986 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

A man in his 30s – a previously confirmed COVID-19 case and a returned traveller from India – remains in a stable condition in Fiona Stanley Hospital ICU after he was transferred to hospital on Saturday from hotel quarantine.

To date, the WA Department of Health has administered 114,506 COVID-19 vaccinations, including 26,333 people who have received both doses. Yesterday, 882 people were vaccinated.

Yesterday, 301 people were assessed for testing and swabbed at WA Health COVID clinics. In addition, 318 people were tested at private pathology clinics.

There have been 1,119,467 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 145,594 were from regional WA.

To date, 68 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia – 52 of the B.1.1.7 strain,15 of the B.1.351 strain and one of the P1 variant (Brazilian variant).
