Western Australia coronovirus update as at 11 May 2021

The Department of Health has reported two new cases of COVID-19 overnight.

They are both males in their 50s and 60s, who have arrived from overseas and are now in hotel quarantine.

The State's total now stands at 1015.

WA Health is monitoring 15 active cases of COVID-19 and 991 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

To date, the WA Department of Health has administered 116,975 COVID-19 vaccinations, including 27,015 people who have received both doses. Yesterday, 2,475 people were vaccinated.

Yesterday, 482 people were assessed for testing and swabbed at WA Health COVID clinics. In addition, 1,917 people were tested at private pathology clinics.

There have been 1,124,437 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 146,492 were from regional WA.

To date, 68 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia – 52 of the B.1.1.7 strain,15 of the B.1.351 strain and one of the P1 variant (Brazilian variant).
