Western Australia coronovirus update as at 12 May 2021

The Department of Health has reported no new cases of COVID-19 overnight.

The State's total remains at 1015.

WA Health is monitoring 13 active cases of COVID-19 and 993 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

To date, the WA Department of Health has administered 119,871 COVID-19 vaccinations, including 27,681 people who have received both doses. Yesterday, 2,842 people were vaccinated.

Yesterday, 444 people were assessed for testing and swabbed at WA Health COVID clinics. In addition, 1,443 people were tested at private pathology clinics.

There have been 1,128,153 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 146,790 were from regional WA.

To date, 68 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia – 52 of the B.1.1.7 strain,15 of the B.1.351 strain and one of the P1 variant (Brazilian variant).
