Western Australia coronovirus update as at 26 April 2021

The Department of Health has reported no new local cases of COVID-19, and no new cases in hotel quarantine overnight.

The State's total number remains at 986.

WA Health is monitoring 29 active cases of COVID-19 and 948 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

To date, the WA Department of Health has administered 88,361 COVID-19 vaccinations, including 20,968 people who have received both doses. Yesterday, 399 people were vaccinated.

Yesterday, 3,119 were tested at WA Health COVID clinics, including 259 at the pop-up clinic at the daycare in Lansdale. In addition, 9,908 people were also tested at private pathology clinics.

There have been 999,110 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 137,622 were from regional WA.

To date, 62 cases of variant strains of concern have been detected in Western Australia – including 48 of the B.1.1.7 strain, 15 of the B.1.351 strain and one of the P1 variant (Brazilian variant).
