The Department of Health will transition to a weekly COVID-19 statement from next week, in line with a national approach which is endorsed by Chief Health Officers.
The last daily statement will be Friday 9 September 2022, and the first weekly report will be made available next Friday, 16 September and then every Friday morning.
WA Health is reporting a total of 1,335 new cases to 4pm yesterday. There are currently 5,941 active cases in Western Australia.
The latest figures from overnight show, there were 199 people with COVID-19 in hospital, 7 in ICU.
Sadly, today's report includes two deaths, dating back to 11 July, which were reported to WA Health yesterday – a man in his 70s and a man in his 80s.

Of the 1,335 cases, 398 were confirmed via PCR test, the remaining 937 were self-reported positive rapid antigen tests.
A total of 2,741 PCR tests were conducted at either state-run or private pathology clinics yesterday.
WA has recorded 1,137,000 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
