Investment momentum across the Western Sydney Aerotropolis is accelerating, with the latest Aerotropolis Investment Update showing proposed private sector investments have more than doubled since December 2024.
The value of private projects at various stages have grown from $9.8 billion to $21.6 billion over the past 14 months, driven by strong demand in freight and logistics, advanced manufacturing, and distribution and data centres.
This is just the beginning of growth which has been enabled by a more than $28 billion investment by the NSW and Commonwealth Government, to deliver critical infrastructure including Western Sydney International Airport, major transport links and establish Bradfield - Australia's first new city in 100 years.
Recent approvals and milestones include:
- The approval of a $1 billion Aldi Automated Distribution Centre.
- The opening of the new M12 Motorway giving Western Sydney a direct, toll-free run to the new airport.
- The approval of the first stage of SEED, Mirvac and Australian Retirement Trust $1.9 billion, 90-hectare industrial precinct.
- The approval of a $139 million, 19.4-hectare Barings Luddenham Industrial Park warehousing estate with more than 63,500 square metres of floor area spread across seven buildings.
- The appointment of Plenary as the NSW Government's development partner for the 5.7 hectare First Land Release in Bradfield City.
- Completion of stage 1 civil works at Bradfield City meaning one third of city is now serviced and development ready.
At 11,200 hectares, the Western Sydney Aerotropolis represents the largest undeveloped area of employment land in the Greater Sydney basin, offering scale, certainty and long‑term growth potential.
Since 2023, the Minns Labor Government has approved seven state significant projects worth $1.93 billion to leverage the economic and social opportunities the new airport will provide.
The NSW Government's draft Sydney Plan outlines the long-term vision for the Western Sydney Aerotropolis and Bradfield City as a nationally significant centre for homes, jobs, industry and global connectivity, anchored by Western Sydney International Airport and new city shaping infrastructure.
Through streamlined planning pathways, coordinated infrastructure sequencing, and direct engagement with industry supporting investment readiness, the NSW Government is enabling faster connections, greater certainty and earlier action as demand for Aerotropolis land continues to increase.
A structured referral program for industry opportunities within the Western Sydney Aerotropolis has also been established, connecting investors, businesses and developers directly with private landholders across the broader Aerotropolis. Interested parties can register for the InvestorLink program on the Bradfield Development Authority's website.
