Westernport Ward by-election candidate information session

The Victorian Electoral Commission is running a free Candidate Information Session at the Cardinia Shire Council Civic Centre at 6pm on Wednesday 16 June 2021.

The session is for individuals interested in running for the position of Cardinia Shire's Westernport Ward Councillor in the upcoming July 2021 by-election.

The position of councillor for Westernport Ward is currently vacant, following the passing of our much-respected councillor, Ray Brown on 16 April 2021. The thoughts of our councillors, staff and the community are with Ray's family.

Nominations to stand as a candidate for the Cardinia Shire Council – Westernport Ward by-election open on Thursday 17 June 2021.

Nomination forms must be lodged in person, together with the $250 nomination fee, with the Election Manager during business hours. The election office will operate on weekdays from Wednesday 16 June at Koo Wee Rup Tennis Club, Cochrane Park (243 Rossiter Road, Koo Wee Rup).

Nominations close at 12 noon on Tuesday 22 June. Late nominations cannot be accepted.

Prospective candidates can call the Election Manager from Wednesday 16 June on 1300 226 029 to make a nomination appointment. They can also pre-fill their nomination form online using the Victorian Electoral Commission's Candidate Helper.

Candidate information kits containing nomination forms and other electoral information will be available on request by contacting the Election Manager.
