The Executive Director met with Eden Bar Tal, Director-General of Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Executive Director expressed condolences for the loss of life and devastating toll that the ongoing conflict has taken.
The Executive Director noted the urgent need to flood Gaza with humanitarian supplies and the restart of WFP's robust distribution system. She reiterated the importance of the safety and security of humanitarian workers.
She reiterated the urgent need for a ceasefire to sustain the immediate scale-up of humanitarian aid to address the desperation and needs of the most vulnerable in Gaza, support the return of all hostages, and foster stability.

The Executive Director met with Major General Ghassan Alian, Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT). The Executive Director appreciated the coordination between WFP and COGAT regarding the delivery of humanitarian aid to reach the civilian population in Gaza. She noted the urgent need for a surge of humanitarian supplies to address hunger and desperation, challenges related to the delivery of lifesaving aid, and the need for continued coordination to address these challenges, specifically highlighting the need for additional crossings into Gaza, facilitation of essential parts for vehicles and access for WFP staff to loading platforms to ensure food is handled properly.
The Executive Director noted the importance of safe, sustained humanitarian access, including the safety and security of humanitarian workers and entry of cash and basic supplies to sustain WFP staff.

The Executive Director met with Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Major General Ghassan Alian, Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), joined the discussion.
The Executive Director appreciated ongoing coordination to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian food assistance in Gaza to civilian populations where they are. She welcomed the emphasis made regarding the IDF's commitment to prevent famine and reiterated the importance of safe, sustained humanitarian access, including more access by road into and within Gaza. The importance of finding practical solutions for faster movement, and increased and sustained volume of trucks with lifesaving aid was agreed.
The Executive Director reiterated the importance of the safety, security and well-being of humanitarian workers, including access to basic necessities.

The Executive Director met with Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel. The Executive Director and Prime Minister discussed the ongoing conflict and the devastating impact on civilians.
The Executive Director expressed her condolences to the Prime Minister for the loss of life, reiterating the need for the urgent and unconditional release of all hostages.
The Executive Director highlighted the urgent hunger needs in Gaza and noted the need to scale up humanitarian food assistance to address growing levels of desperation, alleviate suffering and foster stability. The Executive Director reiterated the urgency of safe, sustained humanitarian access, especially the safety of humanitarian workers.
She noted WFP's role globally in humanitarian relief operations and highlighted WFP's ability to deliver food and nutrition assistance at scale in Gaza, and the ability of WFP's logistical footprint to speed up the flow of essential goods. She noted the urgency of restarting WFP's robust and tested distribution network, and reiterated WFP's willingness to strengthen coordination to reach the most vulnerable families in Gaza. It was agreed to redouble efforts to expedite the entry of humanitarian goods into Gaza.

The Executive Director expressed appreciation for the coordination between WFP and the State of Palestine to prioritize assistance for the most vulnerable in the West Bank and Gaza, and reiterated WFP's commitment to principled, impartial and needs-based humanitarian assistance. She noted the importance and urgency of scaling up food assistance in Gaza to address growing levels of desperation, and the need for urgent, sustained access to meet the needs of the most vulnerable civilians. She further emphasized the urgency of commercial goods to also enter Gaza. The Prime Minister and Executive Director discussed the importance of restoring food systems, including via digital vouchers that support vulnerable families.
