Mr Willie has been caught out wilfully misleading Tasmanians with his woeful budgeting work.
It's little wonder that Labor haven't put together an alternative Budget after even a cursory glance at the failings in the document they've submitted to the TCCI.
Mr Winter forced an election upon Tasmanians after moving a no-confidence motion in the Premier on the basis of the Liberal budget, which returns the State to surplus in 5 years' time.
Mr Winter has admitted to The Advocate that Labor's plan is to return to surplus - wait for it - no sooner than the Budget he blew up!
They've claimed in TV ad's that sports vouchers would be "yearly" but have only included for one year.
Labor have missed other key initiatives they have announced from their costings:
- Additional Parks & Wildlife Funding - $32 million - MISSING;
- Additional Tourism Marketing - $38 million - MISSING;
- West Coast Wilderness Railway - $24 million - MISSING;
- RenewTas - operating costs - $25 million per year - MISSING;
- School Mental Health and Wellbeing Menu - $10 million - MISSING;
- New Youth Justice Facilities - $100 million - MISSING;
- A new Youth Court - $70 million - MISSING; and
- Closing the Gap funding - $4.4 million - MISSING.
Embarrassingly Mr Willie doesn't know how expenditure is accounted for as well.
He has listed a $20 million grant contribution for a convention centre as capital rather than operational expenditure, completely counter to what Labor has been telling stakeholders. An amateur mistake from the wannabe Treasurer.
Winter and Willie can't have it both ways.
Winter should call these stakeholders and say he's withdrawn their funding or fix his botchy costings.
The Liberals' costings are backed by measures included in the 2025/26 Budget.
The ABC and Advocate have already exposed Labor's so-called savings plan - now their spending plan has been exposed to.
What we do know is Labor needs the Greens to govern.
That means more taxes, as they've voted together to legislate in April this year.
Labor will make you pay.
