Without his preference deal, Clive Palmer would 'still be a joke': Bernardi

Australian Conservatives Release

Australian Conservatives Party leader Cory Bernardi says Bill Shorten is only 'cranky' about the Liberal Party's reported preference deal with Clive Palmer because he wanted the deal for himself.

Sky News reports, The Liberal Party has reportedly agreed a preference deal with Clive Palmer to aid its prospects in rural Australia.

The South Australian Senator says the deal legitimises Clive Palmer's United Australia Party 'above and beyond where it should be'.

Senator Bernardi has told Sky News, 'if it wasn't for the weight of his money and the policy magpie approach, Mr Palmer would still be relegated as a bit of a joke'.
