The Royal Commission into National Natural Disaster Arrangements will focus on the Commonwealth's role in recovery from natural disasters when hearings resume on Thursday, 4 June, 2020.
The Commission will examine the Commonwealth's role in supporting and coordinating recovery.
During proceedings, the Commission expects to hear evidence from:
Andrew Colvin APM OAM, Recovery Coordinator, National Bushfire Recovery Agency
Michelle Lees, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Services Australia
The Hon. Shane Stone AC QC, Coordinator General, National Drought and Northern Queensland Flood Response Agency.
The Commission will also explore situational awareness capabilities of the Commonwealth and expects to hear evidence from:
Alison Rose, Chief of Division, Geoscience Australia
Dr Dan Metcalfe, Deputy Director, CSIRO
Shoni Maguire, Acting General Manager (Public Safety), Bureau of Meteorology
Todd Smith, Acting General Manager (National Operations), Bureau of Meteorology
