The results of the 2026 Community Satisfaction Survey have been released, providing valuable insight into how residents view the council's performance, services and priorities.
This marks the 10th year of Wodonga Council's participation, building a valuable long-term dataset that helps track performance, identify trends and inform future planning and service delivery.
Polling was conducted by Local Government Victoria between February and March 2026, using a mixed methodology approach to capture feedback from a cross-section of the community.
The results show Wodonga Council continues to perform strongly relative to its counterparts, with positive results across a range of key services.
The council's overall performance increased two points to 62. This result was four points above the Victorian state average and five points higher than the Regional City average, reflecting community confidence in the council's direction and performance. Other areas of strength included customer service and waste management.
Wodonga Council's Chief Executive Officer Matthew Hyde said the results reflected the organisation's ongoing focus on delivering services and infrastructure that support the community.
"The Community Satisfaction Survey gives us meaningful data that helps us to understand not only how we're performing today, but how community perceptions are changing over time," said Mr Hyde.
"It's encouraging to see our results remain strong and competitive when compared with councils across Victoria and within the Regional Cities group."
The survey also identified opportunities to strengthen performance in areas including decision-making, advocacy and opportunities for community feedback.
"While keeping the community informed recorded one of the strongest improvements this year, we know these areas remain important to residents and deserve ongoing attention."
Mr Hyde said this survey was an important tool for understanding community expectations and informing future improvements.
"These results help us understand what's working well and where we can focus our efforts to deliver better outcomes.
"Community expectations continue to evolve, particularly in a growing regional city such as Wodonga, and this survey is one of several tools that helps shape the conversations, priorities and improvements that come next."
