Woman arrested after northern suburbs pursuits, SA

Police have arrested a woman following two short pursuits in the northern suburbs early this morning, according to SA Police.

Police attempted to stop a Ford hatchback just before 1am on Peachey Road at Edinburgh North to conduct a breath test however the woman driving refused to pull over.

Patrols pursued the car for only a few hundred metres before the car stopped suddenly near the corner of Womma Road where a male passenger got out of the car and handed himself over to police.

The woman remained in the car and drove off, and was not pursued.

The car was spotted again just before 1.30am on Peachey Road at Davoren Park and pursued for a short time before it stopped in Bratton Street where the driver was arrested.

A 33-year-old woman from Renmark was charged with two counts of drive dangerously to escape police, illegal use of a motor vehicle, resist police and drive unlicenced. She was bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 7 October.
