Camden Council is encouraging local businesses to explore opportunities to supply goods, services and works by accessing its Guide to Doing Business with Council.

As one of Australia's fastest-growing local government areas, Camden Council procures a wide range of products and services to deliver the infrastructure, facilities and essential services needed to support the community. Supporting local businesses through procurement remains a key part of Council's approach.

The Guide to Doing Business with Council provides businesses with practical information about Council's procurement processes, including how to register as a supplier, request for quotation and tender opportunities, and the different purchasing methods used by Council. It also outlines how businesses can improve their chances of being considered for future work.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Vince Ferreri, said the guide was designed to make it easier for businesses of all sizes to understand how they can work with Council.

"Local businesses are so important to our growing community and we're committed to making our procurement processes as transparent and accessible as possible," he said.

"Whether you're an established business or just starting out, the Guide to Doing Business with Council provides valuable information to help you understand our purchasing processes and identify opportunities to work with us.

"By supporting local suppliers where possible, we're not only delivering value for our community, but also helping strengthen Camden's local economy."

Businesses are encouraged to register on the VendorPanel Marketplace, Council's online supplier portal, where registered suppliers can be invited to quote on procurement opportunities valued under $250,000. The platform is free to join and allows businesses to create a profile that can be viewed by all council buyers, across the state.

Council also advertises open tender opportunities through its website, providing businesses with the opportunity to compete for larger procurement projects.
