Woman charged over drug supply, SF Benwerrin, NSW

A woman has been charged over alleged drug offences and participation in a criminal group as part of an ongoing investigation into drug supply in Sydney’s south-west, NSW Police say.

Investigators from the State Crime Command’s Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad (MEOCS) established Strike Force Benwerrin in December 2015 to investigate the supply of methlyamphetamine and cannabis in south-west Sydney.

Following extensive investigations, Strike Force detectives arrested a 21-year-old woman shortly before 9.30am today, at a home on Charles Street, Canterbury.

Police will allege in court the woman was a key player in the ongoing supply of prohibited drugs across south-west Sydney in connection with other individuals.

She was taken to Campsie Police Station where she was later charged with supply prohibited drug and participate in a criminal group.

The woman was granted conditional bail to appear before Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 22 November 2016.

Police have made 12 arrests in connection with Strike Force Benwerrin to date, and investigations are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to drug supply to call Crime Stoppers.
