Woman dies after crash at Taperoo, South Australia

A woman has died after a crash at Taperoo on New Year's Day.

Just before 1pm on Wednesday, 1 January, police and emergency services were called to a house in Echunga Street, after reports that a car had reversed over a woman in the driveway of the property.

A 78-year-old woman from Taperoo was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition.

She passed away in hospital last night (Thursday 2 January).

Police have spoken to the driver, an 87-year-old man also from Taperoo who is assisting police with their enquiries.

Major Crash officers are assisting local Western District Traffic officers with the investigation.

The woman's death is the first on South Australian roads this year.
