Woman dies after crash at Woy Woy

A woman has died following a three-car collision on the Central Coast this morning.

About 9.30am (Thursday 26 March 2020), a red Mazda hatchback, driven by a 22-year-old woman, was travelling south along Woy Woy Road, Woy Woy, when it crossed to the opposite side of the road whilst driving through a bend in the road.

The vehicle made contact with a Lexus RX SUV before colliding with a Kia Carnival, driven by a 45-year-old man.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated the woman for head and chest injuries before she was airlifted in a critical condition to Royal North Shore Hospital.

She died in hospital this afternoon.

The 45-year-old man was treated for chest and shoulder injuries and was taken to Gosford Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District established a crime scene and the Crash Investigation Unit have commenced inquiries.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
