Works at Half Moon Bay on track

Despite some wet weather, works on the Red Bluff to Half Moon Bay masterplan are progressing as scheduled.

Council works

The Bayview Crescent retaining wall has been completed and the public toilets in the Life Saving Club building have re-opened. The asphalt path extension, new direct pedestrian crossing, walkway and new seating in the lower car park have all been completed.

The accessible ramp to the pier is complete. Works are underway on the rain garden in the upper car park and are due for completion this week. Raised crossing in the upper car park has been completed and is open for traffic.

Realignment of the shared use path on Beach Road is due for completion this week.

Next on the program is installation of the boardwalk down to Cerberus way which will commence in mid-August and due for completion by mid-September. This is a slightly later time than originally forecast due to unexpected delays in obtaining the boardwalk deck materials.

Beach renourishment

The Department of Environment, Water, Land and Planning crew has progressed well renourishing the beach north of the Red Bluff Cliffs. The plan is to continue a bit further north, and then south of the bluff. The project is still expected to take some weeks pending weather. The revetment wall works have been completed.

Black Rock Yacht Club works

The contract for the roof renovation works has been tendered and closed on 21 July. Works are due to start in late August.

Black Rock Life Saving Club works

The minor renovation works at Black Rock Life Saving Club are well underway.
