The countdown is on until the Oracle Perth Sail Grand Prix presented by KPMG takes to Western Australian waters for the first time, with just over one month to go.

Fresh off the 2025 season finale in Abu Dhabi, BONDS Flying Roos team captain and co-owner Tom Slingsby has arrived in Perth to mark the official handover to Fremantle as the host of the opening event of the 2026 Rolex SailGP Championship.

Final tickets for the Perth Sail Grand Prix on 17-18 January 2026 are now available, with two prime waterfront viewing areas already sold out.

Following the racing action on both Saturday and Sunday, Bathers Beach will be transformed into Aprs Sail, a social and entertainment scene that surrounds the sailing event, with Sneaky Sound System performing on the Sunday.

Supported by the Cook Government through Tourism WA, the Perth Sail Grand Prix is expected to attract thousands of visitors to WA, injecting millions of dollars into the State's economy, while also generating enormous global media coverage for Perth and Fremantle.

SailGP is one of the world's most spectacular and fastest-growing sports events on water, featuring identical 50-foot catamarans raced by teams from 13 nations at speeds of over 100 kilometres per hour in close proximity to the shoreline.

The Perth Sail Grand Prix is the first time the prestigious catamaran race will be held at Fremantle's Bathers Beach, putting WA in the league of iconic locations such as New York, Saint Tropez, and Rio de Janeiro, which all host legs of this prestigious sailing competition.

This inaugural spectacle will see the first ever SailGP Race Stadium in Australia, as well as marking the first time the F50s will have raced in the Indian Ocean.

The event is set to return to WA in 2027 and 2028 as part of a three-year deal, adding to Perth's growing annual calendar of events and showcasing the Cook Government's commitment to economic diversification through tourism and major events providing a significant boost to local businesses and local jobs.
