Wounding and attempted robbery charges, Hillcrest

Two teenage boys have been charged after a young man was assaulted during an alleged attempted robbery in Hillcrest last night.

Around 8.10pm a 21-year-old man was delivery food on his bicycle along Silvertop Street when a glass bottle was thrown at him.

The man stopped and approached two boys before they allegedly assaulted him.

The man sustained a knife wound to his abdomen during the incident.

Police arrived at the scene a short time later, where two boys were arrested.

The 21-year-old man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for non-life-threatening treatment.

Both 17-year-old boys have been charged with one count each of wounding and attempted robbery.
