Yagan Square will be transformed into a vibrant destination celebrating imagination and play as part of the 2025 Telethon Family Festival taking place across the Perth CBD on 19 October 2025.

The 2025 event marks the fourth consecutive year of Yagan Square's involvement in the family-friendly event, which forms part of Telethon Weekend - Western Australia's largest charity initiative.

Running 10am-4pm, the Telethon Family Festival at Yagan Square celebrates the theme 'Find your Inner Awesome' - inviting families to explore their inner superhero through a vibrant program of entertainment, performance and creativity.

The event program features a variety of activities that encourage children to be bold, confident and embrace their curiosity with opportunities to explore dance, music, movement, acting and more in a fun and inclusive environment.

Highlights of the event include:

  • Ultimate silent disco
  • Drama drop-in workshop
  • Imagination playground
  • Dance workshop
  • Channel 7 News Desk - reporter for a day

The Yagan Square Telethon Family Festival also features a dedicated sensory-friendly chill zone designed to offer a calm and inclusive retreat for families and children seeking a break from the high-energy atmosphere of the broader festival.

Located in the Yagan Square Amphitheatre, the chill zone also provides an opportunity for children and their families to spread kindness, creativity and connection by creating artwork and messages for young patients at Perth Children's Hospital.

As stated by Planning and Lands Minister and Perth MLA John Carey:

"The Telethon Family Festival will once again transform Yagan Square into a key destination for children and families to experience some of the festival's highlights.

"Telethon is a great Western Australian institution that has helped to improve the lives of countless children across the State for decades.

"Our government is a big backer of Telethon, providing a record $13 million donation last year and now continuing its support of the festival for a fourth consecutive year.

"This event also demonstrates how our government's revitalisation of Yagan Square has made it a vibrant, family-friendly destination in the heart of our city."
