Young artists across Camden are being invited to unleash their creativity when Art After School returns for a new term next week.

Starting from next week (Monday 19 October), the popular program gives school-aged children and young people the opportunity to explore their creativity, develop practical artistic skills and experiment with a range of different artmaking techniques and mediums.

Across the eight-week course, participants will be encouraged to think creatively while developing their own artistic style and producing a variety of artworks.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Vince Ferreri, said Art After School was a great way for young people to explore their creative side outside the classroom.

"There's no better time than after school to let creativity take over and Art After School gives Camden's young creatives the perfect space to do just that," he said.

"Whether they're already budding Picassos or simply keen to try something new, these classes are a fantastic opportunity to experiment, get messy and have fun while developing new artistic skills.

"I encourage families to get in quick and secure a spot for the new term. Who knows, we could have the next big Camden artist sitting in one of these classes!"

Classes are available for students across Years 1 to 10, with sessions held on:
