Young Socceroos Squad Update for Argentina Matches

Subway Young Socceroos' Head Coach, Trevor Morgan has been required to make changes to his squad as part of his side's FIFA U20 World Cup Chile 2025™ preparations, during the June FIFA Men's International Window.

Paul Okon-Engstler (S.L Benfica) has been called up to the senior national team, following his involvement in a training camp in the United Arab Emirates, while Sebastian Esposito (US Lecce) is unavailable to personal reasons.

Jai Ajanovic (Central Coast Mariners FC) has travelled to Switzerland to join the U18 squad participating in the UEFA Friendship Cup, while Nestory Irankunda (Grasshopper Club Zurich) has withdrawn due to injury.

Louis Agosti (AC Perugia Calcio), Dean Bosnjak (Macarthur FC) and Luka Didulica (Melbourne Victory FC) have been called into the squad and will travel to South America.

Australia will face Argentina in two matches, set to be played out of Buenos Aires on Friday, 6 June and Monday, 9 June (local).

The reigning AFC U20 Asian Cup™ Winners will face the age group's most successful nation - who have secured six FIFA U20 World Cup titles in their history - at their national training facility, recently renamed in honour of Lionel Messi.

The Subway Young Socceroos' FIFA U20 World Cup Chile 2025™ Group Stage opponents have also been recently revealed, following the tournament's Official Draw in Santiago, Chile on Thursday, 29 May (local).

Australia has been drawn into Group D alongside Argentina, Cuba and Italy.

With the FIFA U20 World Cup Chile 2025™ scheduled from 27 September to 19 October 2025, this camp will be the Subway Young Socceroos' primary preparation for the age group's showpiece event, ahead of an official tournament pre-camp in September.
