Need a calm place to study for exams? We've got you covered. Consider this your survival guide - everything you need to get through this exam season.
From Monday 19 October to Friday 13 November, our libraries will have extended hours and additional supports in place to help you keep on top of your study goals.
Please note: our libraries and Youth Hub will be closed on Tuesday 3 November for the Melbourne Cup public holiday.
Survival kit essentials
Bring your notes and your to-do list - we'll take care of the rest.
Our libraries will have free Wi-Fi, power points, snacks and study spaces to keep you going, plus public computers and printing if you don't have your own laptop handy.
Whether you need somewhere quiet to concentrate, space to spread out with friends or simply a change of scenery, you're welcome to stay awhile.
Study support crew
Studying can be stressful, but you're not on your own. Our library staff are an all-round helping hand - happy to point you in the right direction for your studies or research, track down resources or just be a friendly face during a long study session.

Need a brain break?
No survival guide is complete without a recovery zone. During exam cram, head upstairs at Balwyn Library and visit The Nook to unwind, chat with one of our youth workers or jump on the Nintendo Switch.
- The Nook at Balwyn Library - Wednesdays and Thursdays, 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
Reinforcements, if you need them
We understand exam time can be stressful. If you need support or advice, drop into our Youth Hub in Hawthorn and have a chat with our experience Youth Team. Look for a friendly face wearing a City of Boroondara lanyard when you arrive.
You'll also find Nintendo Switch gaming, pool, table tennis, a mini library, a music studio, a computer lab and plenty of free Wi-Fi.
Our Youth Hub is open to young people aged 10 to 25 (parents and carers welcome too).
- The Youth Hub - Monday to Friday, 12 pm to 6 pm.
Survival kit expansion pack
Because any good survival kit always has a few extra tools tucked away.
- Online library resources - eBooks, audiobooks and digital magazines you can borrow instantly, so the study session doesn't have to stop when the library closes.
- Chances to upskill - your library card also unlocks free courses, from professional skills on LinkedIn Learning to language learning and IELTS prep.
- Quiet rooms to book - reserve a room at select branches when you need total focus or a space to study with friends without disturbing anyone else.
That's your survival kit sorted. Your mission now, should you choose to accept it: survive the cram and ace those exams.
