Victoria's Youth Fest continues all month with special events, awards and more in Boroondara celebrating the achievements and contributions of young people in our community.
Events to check out
- Join in the fun of our special interest trivia night on Saturday 13 September - designed by and for Autistic young people aged 15 to 25. Enjoy free snacks, slushies and popcorn in a friendly and inclusive space at Hawthorn Arts Centre.
- Indie-folk singer-songwriter Lucy Joy will be live at Kew Court House on Wednesday 24 September, supported by Strawberry Prince. Lucy began her music career with a 'song-a-day' challenge she set herself in 2023. Now with a 5-piece band, she's eager to bring a new level of impact with her music.
- Young finalists and guests will come together to celebrate the 2025 Boroondara Youth Awards. Stay tuned for all the winners across categories including youth leadership, environment and sustainability, creative arts and volunteering.
Our Youth Hub is your place
Anyone aged 10 to 25 can come to the Youth Hub in Hawthorn. It's open weekdays from midday (10 am during school holidays) to 6 pm.
After a warm welcome from our friendly youth workers, inside you'll find couches and beanbags, pool and table tennis tables, computers, a recording studio, free wi-fi and a lizard called Risky. Besides relaxing, there's a ton of events, workshops and groups to get involved in.
Errol (pictured below in the studio) has been a regular at the Youth Hub while he studied at uni. 'There's always something going on, whether it's fun activities or programs where you can learn skills,' he says. If you're ever feeling a bit lost or need advice, there's always someone here to talk to.'
