Five youths were issued with transit barring orders following an investigation into a recent incident on the Belair line.
On Sunday 22 March, it was reported that a woman was harassed on the train by a group of boys riding BMX bikes.
SAPOL's Public Transport Safety Section investigated and have interviewed five youths, in the presence of their parents, over the matter.
Four of the youths were issued with a formal caution for causing a nuisance, annoying or interfering with the comfort of others on a passenger service.
One youth was given a formal caution for assault in relation to attempting to hit the victim's phone out of her hand.
All five youths, aged 13 and 14, were issued with transit barring orders, preventing them from using public transport for two to four weeks.
Police are currently conducting Operation Mountain, focused on addressing anti-social behaviour on public transport during the school holiday period.
Police will continue to monitor incidents on the Belair and other train lines and people found committing offences or antisocial behaviour will be barred from using the service to ensure the safety of all commuters.
